I've never shot a pistol much. As an avid upland game and duck hunter there just isn't much call for them and my shooting on the range the first time proved it. It was terrible. What was impressive was my instructors. They watched me shoot two shots and with a couple of small corrections brought me on target every time. I tell you these guys know their business. Great shooting instrutors that really know their business and I would recommend anyone wanting to take the concealed carry class to check Carry Legal out. It will be money well spent - they bring on new meaning to the word PROFESSIONAL.

I attended the 8 hour concealed carry class last weekend and I have to say, it was very informational. I learned so many things about the laws regarding carrying a weapon and many more things about gun safety. I also appreciated the added self defense section. As a woman, it is definately important to be aware of all potential threats. Of course, the most fun was at the shooting range. I've only shot a gun a few times in my life, however, with the tips given to us by Paul and Jeremiah, I was able to stay on target like never before. All in all, it was a wonderful class and I have already begun to suggest it to many of my friends and family members!

Paul and Randy are excellent instructors and very well versed on the topic of self defense, gun safety, and the legal aspect of carrying a concealed weapon. The class was entertaining and kept my attention the entire time. I took the class back in August. My parents just took a CC class elsewhere in OK due to distance - and I was surprised by how much more in-depth the instruction I received was. The other CC class covered only about 1/3 as much legal stuff/shooting technique. Also, the Carry Legal facility was far superior (more people able to shoot at the same time, so you're not standing around forever), and there were COOKIES, lol! Seriously, all these CC classes aren't created equal, this is a good one.

Took class on 2-6-2010. First off, this class is worth more than 60.00!! Paul and Randy are excellent instructors. They explain everything in plain, easy to understand language. This is no straight from some book, boring, 8 hour class. If they weren't doing this, they would probably make a pretty good comedy team. I took the 1-17 class. This class was the perfect fit for me. I hadn't shot a gun before. Basically, the extent of my knowledge was which end is "the dangerous" end and where the trigger is on the gun! The staff never treated me with anything but professionalism and had the common goal to teach me about gun safety and respect for the weapon. I didn't expect to even hit the target and at the conclusion of the day I had 100% hits, with several X-ring hits as well! Very highly recommended for anyone looking for concealed carry education.

I took the class on 1/17/2010. It was money well spent, and I had my many questions regarding concealed carry answered during the course. In addition to being a gun safety oriented class, I also picked up valuable tips on the most up to date methods of proper shooting, and why those methods worked. Perhaps one of the biggest surprises was how laid back the class was. No macho gun instructors proclaiming how great they were, no pressure for students on the firing line, and a very slow and detailed explanation of what to expect on the firing line before we even stepped foot on the range. Paul and Randy are both great down to earth guys. They are very concerned about not only your safety while in the class, but also your safety on the streets after the class is over. If you have any doubts about taking the class, please put them aside and take this course so you can exercise your Second Amendment rights as a US citizen. You will not regret it.

Take this class! Even with the distraction of below 20 degree temperatures while shooting (Jan.8, 2010), these guys were friendly, informative, and instructive. Paul & Randy went well beyond what is required and I felt at the end of the day that I had learned several advance techniques to my safety and shooting. Very safety oriented...which hammers home the purpose of the training. Randy even lent me his 92S when my jammed using cheap ammo. I have already filed the OSBI forms and now have the "wait". I was not too excited about sitting in a room listening to someone tell me how to be safe with a gun. I have to say, I was very impressed. They definitely taught me a thing or two. I took a last minute class on Dec 26th, and have got to say, that I thoroughly enjoyed spending my Saturday there. The class was put on very well. As parents, we were unsure if having a gun in the house was the best idea. After taking this class, I feel so much more confident about not only having a gun in the house but also now taking it with me everywhere I go. I expected this class to be similar to the Hunters Safety Course I've taken in the past. It was Nothing like that! I learned more about gun safety than I expected. But also learned how to actually shoot, since apparently just pointing it towards a bad guy isn't good enough :) I was completely inexperienced with handguns, but was made to feel comfortable by the amazing instructors. I was also lucky enough to get into a class full of friendly and supportive students. I feel that even those who were experienced shooters would say they walked away learning more than they expected. My Instructors: Paul was great! He is very articulate, intelligent, and a funny guy. He can recite interesting statistics and quotes like no one I’ve ever met. He’s a natural teacher with the ability to feel your brain with detailed info without boring you to death. Randy is the shooting pro, though you wouldn’t know it by his demeanor, he's a funny guy. And even though he could probably shoot a gnat out of the sky from 20 yards out, he was able to explain the most simple procedures without intimidation. And I’m sure he impressed some of the most experienced shooters there as well. Reuben showed an amazing amount of patience with my lack of confidence and experience, even going so far as to let me shoot his Glock (which I loved) when my .32 refused to cooperate. I have to admit, it was my first time at a shooting range so I was pretty nervous. But Reuben helped to calm me and focus on having fun while learning. This was a great experience. Fun, educational, and should be considered necessary for any responsible adult. I went in thinking of this as a formality that was only wasting one of my Sundays, I was wrong. I now plan on taking the next step in shooting lessons and have found my new hobby. The only problem I have now is convincing my husband to buy me a Glock! You Guys Rock :) Linsay Carter

I took the Conceal Carry class with Paul, Randy, and Marshall yesterday. Excellent instruction in a no stress, relaxed environment. Began this process with the Intro to handguns for ladies class with TDSA and plan to take the AP1 class next, and then Advanced Conceal Carry with the husband (he is a CarryLegal and TDSA student as well). The shooting techniques and concepts they teach make such a difference in your accuracy and control. My confidence level and ability changed dramatically with this instruction. I never really even thought I would consider this type of training but feel it is an absolute necessity!

I just completed the Concealed Carry Class and I must say its a very educational, fascinating and in depth class. We learned a whole lot in a small amount of time and the instructors went out of their way to make it enjoyable and fun. I have nothing but respect for these fine men who make it their duty to instruct and educate others on the safe and effective use of pistols and other kinds of guns. Make no mistake about it, these guys are highly trained and skilled at what they do but they don't have the huge ego that makes learning so difficult. They work with you on your level and where you are at and emphasize that the range is a "stress free" range before we ever go out and shot. This really takes the pressure off and helps you relax. This really helps with the nervous kind of people like myself! I even hit the sweet spot on the target! By the end of the day, I knew some great fundamentals. First off, they helped me learn how to confidently load my gun, virtually erase ammo jams, and even went out of their way to teach effective modern ways to fire a pistol with emphasis on hand positioning, posture and line of sight among other things. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to be safer with a gun, get more information on gun safety and/or potential threats in society today and who want to get their basics of how to fire at targets. Way to go guys, keep on keeping on!

This weekend (Nov 7, 2009) I attended the basic carried conceal class with my husband. I went into the class not being sure if I was actually going to carry, but really wanting the same information my husband was receiving so I would also be educated. This class is very well written. It is however taught even better. I often fall asleep in such "informative and life changing" classes, but this duo of tactical teachers kept us rolling on the floor ( not literally). The range time was of course the best part. I thought I knew somthing about shooting till they taught me what I was doing wrong. My groups went from 12" at seven stinkin yards the day of the class to hitting the X ring every shot. I have to admit, when I heard the class was 8 hours, I was a little bummed, but looking back now, the time flew by. It is great how everything is broke up so it doesnt get boring. Paul makes the class fun and him and Randy both go above and beyond making sure all the questions are answered and make you feel comfortable with the gun. They are also the funniest instructors I have ever seen. It makes for a very fun day, and I learned more than I thought I would.

I took this Concealed Carry Class on November 1st and I came out with a lot more than I went in with. The materials covered are presented in a comfortable atmosphere by instructors that are competent, knowledgeable, energetic, and most of all they did not bore me even during the most boring of subject matter. The range time portion of the course was handled in a professional, controlled, yet fun manner. Everyone who attended was individually helped with pistol accuracy and saw immedate results; something I do not feel they had any obligation to do for us. During the breaks, Paul and Randy were extremely personable and helpful and took time to get to know us and answer any questions we had. I highly recommend anyone looking to take this course to take it here regardless of any affiliation or membership with another range or club.

I took my CCW class today (Oct. 31) and I can't think of one thing to complain about. I thought the class would be another boring safety class but between Paul's theatrics and Randy's jokes it was a lot of fun. I would recommend the class to everyone, no matter their skill level. I took this course several years ago from another local vendor, and ultimately decided not to apply for a permit. I retook the course today (October 31, 2009) taught by Paul and Randy -- it was like a totally different course. While the state mandated content isn't exactly high drama, their delivery was bright and cheerful, mixed with anecdotes, both serious and hilarious designed to emphasize the lessons. The range time was more like a marksmanship lesson than a statutory requirement to shoot 50 rounds. While Paul and Randy were observing our range safety habits, they also coached each of us on shooting technique and proper grip of the gun for maximum accuracy. After the range session everyone in the class agreed that they had noticeably improved their accuracy over the short session. We had a couple of very new shooters in the class and you could literally see the improvement in their shooting from string to string as Paul and Randy coached them. A day very well spent. Bill

I took my CCW class with TDSA yesterday (Oct 24th, 2009) and I think it was a great course. Paul, Andy (NOT Randy!) and Wyatt/Bars were great! We had a fun time and while Paul was the main lecturer, the added input from the other guys and their help on the firing range was just great. I learned to shoot a few years ago from a friend who was a CLEET firearms instructor, but I only had a couple of hours with him and most of the concepts have faded drastically. The basic firearms instruction provided in the class was a great addendum/update for me, and I was very impressed with my accuracy after such a long time away from shooting (85% 10-ring and 100% 9-ring, baby!). As mentioned many times, the CCW class is not a be-all and end-all for concealed carry and self-defense, but rather an introduction the concepts and legalities in Oklahoma. It is a lot of information to absorb in 1 day, but one other thing it did do was show me how much more I DON'T know and need to learn. I can't wait to take the Advanced Combat Pistol and Advanced Concealed Carry Classes! All the guys were very professional, personable and knowledgeable. I'd recommend this group without reservation for your intro CCW class. Great job, guys! Thanks a ton!

Paul, Being a retired Deputy from Ouchita Parish, LA., I decided to take the Concealed Carry course to stay abreast of the current law as well as get a bit of range time in to familiarize myself with a new weapon recently purchased. It has been a while since I've even shot a pistol, and I do believe that even an "old dog" can learn a trick or two. Quite honestly, your class simply blew me away. You and yours managed to exceed every expectation I had about these types of class. I particularly appreciate you emphasis on SAFETY. I agree that there is no such thing as an accident concerning firearms, rather only NEGLIGENT DISCHARGES. The academics were very professionally rendered and I do believe the tips offered on the range improved my accuracy from the very first shot. Remember that the last time I shot in a class class environment, it was on a Police Post Course with a revolver before Semi Autos were approved for carry. I have absolutely no regret over spending an entire Saturday with your group. The experience was pleasant, informative, and an all around confidence booster. Honestly I had signed up for this class because of the price, location, and purpose of the class. However, I got a lot more than that. The class is worth far more than what is advertised in that a student will gain an appreciation for gun rights, gun safety, and the necessity for training. I applaud the staff for their friendly and non condescending approach to the class as well as their wealth of knowledge about every and any topic. My only regret is not having taken this class sooner! I would recommend this class even if distance is a strain because I wouldn't take a chance on missing out anywhere else. Paul and Randy, I would like to take this time to thank you for giving me a better insight to guns/weapons. After taking your Concealed and Carry class, I am better equipped to protect myself as well as my family should the occasion arise. When I first walked into your doors, I was unable to even hit the target, let alone get close to the "X". Most of my shots ended up below the target and into the dirt! I learned the proper positioning of my "trigger" finger. Stance for both upper and lower body, about the momentum and accuracy that comes with a proper stance. I learned about the "Crush" grip which has changed the way I now hold a gun. Sight alignment was my biggest challenge, it was not until I was given a "real life" visual clue on the gun range I understood. With that said, my shooting improved, I still have much practice ahead of me, but I will get better. Learning about "Dry Fire" will help me when I can't make it to the range. "Squib", I thought, (What in the world is that? Is that something like a squid? And why are we talking about things from the ocean?) Nope! I learned that has NOTHING to do with the ocean. Overall, it was a great class that gave me a better understanding of how guns/weapons operate, proper techniques the crazy laws we have now, as well as more peace of mind that comes with knowledge, because after, all knowledge is power. When I first started looking around at different places to take my concealed carry class, I thought they would all be the same, teaching gun safety, where you can and can't take your gun and so on. I was totally blown away to find at Carry Legal they cover much, much more. Not only do they go over all the above to get your carry license, but it was much more in depth on how to protect yourself from attackers, proper shooting practices including the correct way to shoot your gun, and second to none one-on-one instruction from Paul. I took my class last weekend on the 11th and I don't think I could have enjoyed it more. It was extremely informative and also very FUN, they did a outstanding job of making the laws and rules completely clear. After using their grip method my aim was greatly improved in seconds....it's that good. I would definitely recommend to everyone to TAKE THIS CLASS, and don't stop there, there's advanced training they teach also, and from the videos they showed it looks like the real deal, I'm going to sign up as soon as I can.

You are so well prepared for teaching the class and the time just goes by so quickly. The Carry Legal class was excellent. Instructions prior to the class and Paul's communication were excellent and concise. I never felt like I didn't know what to bring, where to go, or when to be there. Information in the FAQ left me with a good idea of what to expect on class day. Carry Legal's accommodations allowed me (YMMV) to take the class in just a few days after registering, at a time when most other classes are booked for months. On class day class starts promptly on time, again instructions are direct and concise. Paul does a great job at maintaining your attention; he is a good speaker over all. I don't know how much of the class is "required teaching" and how much was ad lib, but there are definitely bonuses thrown in, especially at the range. Breaks were planned in good timing. Before and during the range exercises, it was crystal clear that safety was top priority and I felt like that was a huge plus for new shooters to feel safe. The range exercise was near military, which only added to the feeling of structure and safety. Every shooter was instructed on basic/moderate handgun marksmanship techniques and each target was evaluated at the end, giving you a good idea of what you need to work on. The range exercise was where Carry Legal really shined above the rest. The value given overall, especially at the range, far exceeds the $50/$60 fee. Paul strongly urged everyone to realize the SDA class is just the beginning point, and continue training afterwards - and I completely agree. Keep training! Myself and wife took the course in two half day classes. We learned so much more than one thinks they really know about laws and safety and recognizing a situation and how to handle it. Paul was very through and answered any and every question anyone had related to the course and what he was covering in class and at the qualification range. Feb. 22 Some friends and I attended a Concealed and Carry class instructed by Paul at Carry Legal. Paul is an incredible instructor and VERY passionate about the topics he discusses and teaches...Paul has some very good assistance as well. Randy is very knowledgable, and appears to love doing this as well. Thanks for the additional instruction at the range Randy! Ruben was able to assist at the range as well. All of the individuals that helped out were TOP NOTCH! I registered for the class with minimal knowledge regarding the concealed and carry laws, and completed the class with an enormous wealth of knowledge. The videos are amazing, lectures are informative and entertaining, and the range session was fun- thanks for the advice on gripping the gun more effectively, and the all of the additional information provided to me. Listening to them increased my accuracy by approximately 40%, they DO indeed know what they are talking about. Paul, Thank you for the way you conducted the Valentine's Day 2009 CCW class. We were given a lot of information to process and some to research afterward. The discussion was casual and the content meaningful. My wife has MS and only one eye that functions well, but she thoroughly enjoyed the instruction. She is very familiar with her revolver but was hesitant to take the class due to the auto pistol requirement. Her hand strength is not sufficient to rack a slide. Randy gave her wonderful assistance while in the range shooting portion. She became more confident and relaxed while learning your shooting stance/grip. After taking the class I was stoked, and all I can say is that the experience is much better lived than read in a testimonial. I recommend this for everyone, even if you just curious about carrying a concealed weapon. There were 27 people in the class I attended and they were from all walks of life, from guys that claim to carry and wants to be legal to ladies that are just seeking a greater level of protection from Mr. Criminal. The classroom and range are very professionally managed, but kept on a very personal, interactive level. Took the class today and have to say, it was not at all what I thought it would be; it went FAR beyond my expectations. Paul's passion for protecting a citizen's right to bear arms was quite impressive. I was expecting a boring class about nothing more than safety. He had an extraordinary ability of hitting on important issues (safety being first and foremost) and keeping it interesting and altogether enjoyable by adding in personal stories. The preparation he puts into his class is not something he composes in a day, a week, or even a month. His class clearly consisted of years of research done on his own time for no other reason than to educate us laymen out here on a variety of issues. I was most impressed by the simplicity in which he taught the class. I loved his actual citing of cases dating back to the 19th century as well. Furthermore, he made it even more interesting by inviting not only participation in discussion, but actual debate if one so desired (very nice to see such a humble man). Out on the range, his attitude was one to be most commended. Never did he make one feel like they lacked (even if they did, such as myself LOL). He addressed the issue of self doubt and shot that attitude down quickly at the beginning of class. In summation, I would HIGHLY recommend his class to all. I would challenge anyone that thinks they know guns and the laws surrounding such to go to his class--ALL would leave taking a wealth of knowledge they never thought possible.
